May 27th marks the official release date of our collaborative album, Ordway Nineteen! “Nineteen Movements for Unaccompanied Cello” is an evening-length work for solo cello which began as a conversation between Scott and Arlen in 2017; a seedling for Arlen’s interactive chamber music series, Philadelphia Performances from Autism. From there, Scott and Arlen bonded over their love of nature and music, and, drawing from inspiration that ranged from the Pacific Ocean to Bach to the Wissahickon Forest to Britten to the sense of community one can find in charming Philadelphia and far beyond, this piece was born. The piece was completed in early 2018, premiered in February 2018 in Philadelphia, and then recorded in the concert hall at Rutgers University’s Nicholas Music Center in New Brunswick between 2018-2019. We are so excited to share it with you!!!
